Constable Nathaniel Ringwood is one of our most versatile characters. He can be used in almost any scenario. For a seated or standing audience he displays a comprehensive collection of historic police items, some dating back almost 200 years. This consists of weapons; batons; handcuffs and restraints; helmets and other items. The collection now includes examples of equipment used by the public to prevent crime, one of these being a full size mantrap. Whilst delivering his presentation he wears the carefully reproduced uniform of a police constable of 1897.
This character is also an invaluable addition to a Victorian fair or themed event. When on patrol he is a great favourite with all members of the public. Older people remember constables like him from their youth and younger people are fascinated by the change that has taken place when compared to a constable of today. It is not unusual for him to encounter present day police officers at events and the public greatly enjoy seeing an old bobby and a current PC standing together.
